This is a Jackdaw live recording made by DocWu for his Buffalo Live Music Podcast. This is the site where it was originally posted:
As you can see, he got the permission to record the show. REMEMBER THAT THIS IS NOT AN OFFICIAL ALBUM, BUT A SHOW THAT WAS TAPED BECAUSE DOC WU WAS ALLOWED TO DO IT BY THE BAND. IT´S AVAILABLE UNDER A CREATIVE COMMONS LICENCE.
Unfortunately, Jackdaw are no longer active and then their website has been deleted. Anyway, all the info about the band can be found here:

Nice one, thanks a lot fella! I really love their song Hogjaw which is on the Shite n Onions Vol 2 compilation, but havent been able to get hold of any of their other material. Ive been looking for a good couple of years! Nice find on this one.
ReplyDeleteAs the original producer of the recordings in this post, I share your enthusiasm about Jackdaw and their music. I miss them and their exciting live shows, which I had the pleasure of attending many times. I became friends with the band and got to know them over the span of their short-lived existence.
ReplyDeleteHowever, I would like to remind your readers that this is not a professional recording or a commercial CD. The artwork you have created infers that might be the case. This has not and cannot be released commercially by anyone, other than Jackdaw. Anything other than that exceeds the agreement I had with the band and the Creative Commons license it is published under.
As long as the reader understands that this is NOT a commercially available CD and that it cannot ever be sold as such, I have no problem with it's inclusion here. I don't believe the band members would either.
It is not the first time I had Jackdaw appear in a podcast. They were in an earlier recording recorded at a Buffalo tavern, the Swannie House, in 2006. It was an intimate show in small quarters. A fight actually broke out during one of the songs and tipped a table, including my recorder and several beers, into Dave's accordion case!
The podcast can be found at: http://wnypodcast.com/2006/01/02/buffalo-live-music-podcast-6-jackdaw/
and the recording at: https://archive.org/details/BuffaloLiveMusicPodcast6
Some of this podcast found it's way onto the live disc of Jackdaw's Brilliant, Sad and Guilty CD.
Several of Jackdaw's CDs are still listed on Amazon.com.
Thanks for your comments DosWu. I think that all the info about the recording was clear: The Creative Commons logo is on the artwork, it's clearly stated that it was taped by your for your podcast and there is a link to your podcast. I also stated that the artwork was made by me. Besides, it's labeled as a ROIO (Recording of Independent Origin), that is, it's not an official recording :-)
ReplyDeleteAnyway, I have written some additional sentences to make it clear.
Thanks for your feedback and the excellent job you did with your Podcast. I really enjoyed them.
