OK, this is not Celtic punk. But I feel that whoever is interested in Celtic punk should at least listen to Fairport Convention. Why? Because after Fairport Convention, the main British Folk Rock band from the 70's together with Steeleye Span, the Celtic rock was born: Horslips in Ireland and JSD Band and Five Hand Reel in Scotland.
I have put together some songs from different shows. The line-up is not the "classic" line-up with Richard Thompson, but at least Sandy Denny and Dave Swarbrick are there. I have only included the songs that I like. I guess that some Fairport diehard fans would tell that it is a sin to remove "Sloth" and another songs sung by Sandy Denny.
Enjoy the fiddle playing by Dave Swarbrick, the main British fiddler and remember that he toured and recorded together with the late Alistair Hullett (Roaring Jack)
