Local Melbourne Celtic punks The Ramshackle Army have been toiling away since the release of 2014’s debut album ‘Letters From The Road Less Travelled’. After a number of lineup changes and a US tour with Celt punk legends The Tossers, the band have finally returned to the studio with an arsenal of new tracks. With a new strong lineup, and faster more aggressive sound, the band will be launching the new single "Foreign Soil", on October 14th at the Bendigo Hotel, Collingwood. This will be the first new music released by the band in over 2 years.
"Foreign Soil" will be released for purchase and streaming on 21st September followed a Melbourne Single Launch on October 14th.
The Ramshackle Army have always found themselves in a small but close knit Australian Celtic Punk scene and been as well received in the US and Europe as at home. Late 2015 saw a month long tour of the US joining The Tossers and Gallows Bound as well as festival dates with the likes of Flatfoot 56.
Since then, the band returned home and immediately began writing a faster, more melodic and technical brand of Celtic punk suited to the new lineup. The products of this labour have been put down with the help of Sam Johnson at Holes and Corners (South Melbourne), previously responsible for the band’s first EP "Life Lessons and Drunken Sessions", and more recently for The Smith Street Band and The Bennies.
The new offering entitled ‘Whitewashed Graves’ will be out in November but the band are keen to get a taste out to the audience in the form of Foreign Soil, a fast aggressive banjo driven track representative of what to expect from the new RSA sound.
“We feel this is a major step in the direction we want to head and honestly the thing we’re most proud of. We can’t wait to get back out there after a longer break than we’re use to, and smash these out in front of anyone who’ll listen” said lead singer Gaz Byrne.
New EP Whitewashed Graves out in November with EP tour to follow. Stay tuned for more details.
