“Pipes Not Dead” is a powerful bagpipes punk EP.
There are The Real McKenzies infused songs, like the kick-ass opening track “Moscow”,
and numbers with a European feel (for instance, the short anthem “Zuname”, that
reminds me of Die Dodelsäcke). “Freedom” and “Music from the Heart” are amazing
tracks too. Apart from those bagpipes punk tracks, the closing number, “Pirate Song”,
is an interesting guitar led pirate metal song.
The Russian scene is alive and kicking and
Zuname are one of the bands at its forefront. If you enjoy bagpipes punk, then spend
some dollars and grab a copy of “Pipes Not Dead".
