Good evening,
When The Ramshackle Army commenced playing shows in Australia and spreading our own brand of Aussie Celtic punk a short 18 months ago, international touring and particularly North America seemed like a pipe dream. The sort of idea that you through around a pub table after a number of stiff pints, signifying that it is probably time to go home.
Then October 2011 happened.
Shortly after being fortunate enough to support Dropkick Murphys on the final show of their 2011 Australian Tour, the band were invited to join DKM on select dates of their world renowned and incomparable annual St Patrick's Tour. For this independent and self-managed Melbourne band this has meant a crash course in Immigration, Visas, US Tax Code and reaching out to anyone who’d listen.
After months of planning, and organising shows with some of the worlds best Celtic folk punk bands, we are proud to release the attached schedule of 12 shows for March 2012 (click on the picture) , some highlights of which are:
· St Patricks Day (March 17th) with Dropkick Murphys, Frank Turner and State Radio at Tsongas Arena (UMass. Lowell, MA)
· The 50 act, 30,000 person Shamrock Fest in Washington DC on March 24th.
We are amazingly grateful for this opportunity and look forward to representing the Australian scene on the international stage.
