Gerap Gurita is a Yogyakarta (Indonesia) band that wears Celtic colors with pride. Now Gerap Gurita has come back with their first album “Pilihan”. Anom, with his own musically style, and Ainx, with his new accordion, have turned the music up to more “Indonesian” although we can still feel the Irish atmosphere in their album. What has emerged from this album is a completely new Gerap Gurita, mature, focused, and rooted in a timeless classic Punk Rock sound. This album is completely different from their earlier EP, it’s more colorful.

Gerap Gurita also have added two new members to the band, they are Indra (thin-whistle) and Keke (Saxophone) who have helped the band to find their own characteristic. Aspects of Flogging Molly and The Tossers still shine through the band harmonizing with the band’s musical style. The track "Kembali" reveals the comeback of the band from hiatus, and is one of the noticeable tracks on "Pilihan". “Kembali” is also the first single of the band that many fans can still enjoy on the radio. There's a passion behind Ainx's accordion sound on the song “Kembali” that is able to make a lot of kids get surprised and many fans who have heard Gerap Gurita first EP will certainly be wandering pointlessly and confused. This album is a progression, "Pilihan" offers a new style on Gerap Gurita's songs like “Kepercayaan”, not heard before . "Kepercayaan" is the second single from the band.

Gerap Gurita has found their own musical style and they still remain focused on song craft. Almost all the songs of the band are decidedly upbeat and energetic except the track “Untuk Kawan” that has big mourning sing-along reff and "Self Control" takes the accordion work into horror territories. After hearing "Pilihan", it’s clear that the band has emerged clearly pointed in a different direction. "Pilihan" is Gerap Gurita's best work to date; it's honest.
