The Rathmines "Rambling with the Rats", The Tim Malloys "Wake" and Emian PaganFolk "Aquaterra" are the featured album at Celtic-Folk-Punk radio.

This is the weekend schedule:

Saturday 14 March 2015

2h00, 6h00, 10h00, 14h00, 18h00 and 22h00 (CET, Paris-Berlin-Rome time)

Sunday 15 March 2015

2h00 (CET, Paris-Berlin-Rome time)

There are two different playlists, and therefore every 4 hours the songs won't be the same. Besides, the order will be different every day. That is, if you can only listen to the radio on Friday,  for instance, at 22h00, you can listen again on Saturday at 22h00, since the songs won't be exactly the same.
Tune in and enjoy!

1) The Rathmines (Berlin, Germany)

The bass-player, Marcus, and the singer/guitar-player Martin had a band called Stainless Bones, which kind of broke apart in 2011. We two attended a Pogues-concert in August 2012 , wanting to see Shane for at least one time before he kicked the bucket. Afterwards we sang (or maybe: growled) Irish Folk in the underground on our way home. As we got off the train, a guy approached us asking: You guys make music? So we met our accordion-player, Egidio. He had attended the same concert and rode the same train. The three of us exchanged numbers and decided to focus on Irish Folk which we all liked very much. Some obstacles had to be overcome (Egidio forgot his cell in a cab that very night, so for a while we heard nothing of him and he couldn't be reached), but we managed to play some small gigs in Berlin. On a gig in January 2013 we found out that a friend of ours, René, had played punk drums years ago. We offered him a Cajon and he agreed. Hence: The Rathmines completed.

Line-up:

Marcus Hinzmann - Bass, vocals
René Kiesel - Cajón, percussion, vocals
Egidio Macavero - Accordion
Martin Schneider - Vocals, guitars, whistles

2) The Tim Malloys (Minneapolis/St. Paul, USA)

Equal parts pub and post-punk folk, the Tim Malloys fuse traditional Irish music with a raucous Minneapolis sound and sensibility. They’re a cornerstone of the Twin Cities Celtic crossover scene, with five records released since their 1994 inception. Mashing up influences ranging from The Pogues to The Suburbs, the Tim Malloys are a bootlegger’s dream of punk guitar, manic grooves, and rollicking callbacks. Something whiskey this way comes....

“A little punk, a little rock, a lot of rebellion (who says you have to be Irish to sing “God Save Ireland?”), the Tim Malloys are a rollicking good time. Go ahead, sing along—everyone else does.” Secrets of the City

Line-up:

Neil Johnston - Vocals, bass & bodhrán
John Sjogren - Vocals, rhythm acoustic guitar
Kirstin Johnston - Flute & tin whistle
Tom "Tomás" Delaney - Lead guitar & accordion
Scott Schwister - Drums
Patrick DuPaul - Soundboard & road technician

Discography:

"Live at Kieran's Irish Pub" (1997, 12 tracks)
"If You Were Walking"(1998, 14 tracks)
"Drunkards, Bastards and Blackguards" (1999, 13 tracks)
"Wrecked" (2002, 16 tracks)
"Wake" (2011, 13 tracks)

3) Emian PaganFolk (Monteforte Irpino, Italy)

From Celtic to North-European culture, from medieval ballads to shamanic singing: EMIAN PaganFolk music combines North and Mediterranean folk languages, enrapturing the listener with an enchanting song, taking him to snowy peaks, enchanted woods, along Scandinavian fjords. Their music makes him discover his deepest ego, archaic feelings, bringing him back to the ancestral harmony with the universe.

Line-up:

Aianna Egan - Irish harp, vocals, bodhrán
Emain Druma - Percussions, vocals, fiddle, flutes
Rohan - Bass, Irish bouzouki, backing vocals
Máirtín Killian - Drums, percussions, acoustic guitar, vocals
