BAND OF THE MONTH - DRUNKEN DOGS

Amazing Celtic punk band from Quebec, Canada.

"Back in 1994-95 , I started writing punk songs with me cousin,Pyro Strachan. We tried to be a bit original by adding flute to our punk shit. Some years later ,from the ashes of the punk project we called Green Hounds was born the idea for Drunken Dogs ; punkish speedy folk songs , mostly celtic, much inspired by The Pogues.

It's around 2004 that the big fella' (Murdoch)and his accordion joined me in me efforts to make a real band out of me work. Later,Ben,a good friend and a good drummer, came along and we managed to reunite Pyro with his ol'guitar...and so,the band started. Still,we didn't make that many gigs and we encountered a lot of trouble(both internal and external)and eventually, Pyro left the band.

It's only aroud 2008-09 that we realy got back on our feet ,thanks to Carl and Gary, incredibly grand bass and guitar players.

Wrote some new songs , Gary brought a few of his own .And soon the first Drunken Dogs album will finally come out. See ye in the pub . Slaìnte!!!  Osrich"
