REVIEW - CALICO STREET RIOTS "From the City to the Shores" EP (2011)

Calico Street Riots "From the City to The Shores" EP
Release date: April 2011
Running Time: 12:07, 4 tracks

After their three demo tracks released in 2010, Calico Street Riots are back with this 4 track EP. If you check the review that was posted here, you'll see that the songs had two different directions. Now you'll be wondering which one the band has taken.

The opener, "The City Never Sleeps" is a fast-paced accordion driven song. If you like The Killigans or The Whiskey of the Damned, that's your song.

Next track, "Rosanna", has some Flogging Molly influence. Good guitar work and fiddling.

To talk about "A Pint & A Fight" is quite easy. This catchy song was one of the best songs of 2010.

The last track is called "Shanty". Pirate vocals and a sound that can rival with The Dreadnoughts.

Calico Street Riots have decided to give priority to their party side and they have won their bet. If they can keep this level with another 6 or 7 tracks I'm pretty sure that their debut album will be a must have.

Tracklist:

1 - The City Never Sleeps 2:50
2 - Rosanna 4:18
3 - A Pint & A Fight 1:53
4 - Shanty 3:00
