FEATURED BAND - CLAYMORE (Canada)

November 2010 featured band is Claymore, from Calgary, Canada. Please note that there are another two Celtic rock bands called Claymore, one from Germany and another one from Australia.

"High-energy and committed!!! England born Chris, as well as Jim and Derrek like to enjoy ourselves, and like to get everybody around us to have a fun time, but we also are very dedicated musicians. Although it may seem like Claymore is just about jumping around and not appearing serious, all of us are committed to being the best at what each of us do. We have regular drummers out with us, either a full kit or a bodhran, depending on the location. We are truly passionate about the music.

Chris Greve - lead vocals, acoustic guitar, bohdran, back-up vocals

Chris is the main singer and songwriter for the band. Born in London, England and raised in Calgary, Alberta, his heart and passion remains in Celtic music. His musical influences are Shane MacGowan/The Pogues, Great Big Sea, and Paul McCartney.

Jim Taylor - fiddle, mandolin, back-up vocals

Jim’s background is classical music, but he has adapted his style to the Celtic genre, thus creating a distinct and creative touch to traditional and contemporary tunes.

Derrek Spencer - bass guitar, back up vocals, lead vocals

With family roots in Fortune, Newfoundland, Derrek ‘s involvement in music comes naturally , evolving from country western into Celtic.

Also including drums, percussion, or bodhran"
