REILLY - Live at the House of Guinness

This bootleg features covers of Pogues and Saw Doctors songs, as well as some traditionals. It was available at the band's website a long time ago.

"Formed in early 2000 by percussionist Brian Reilly and original guitarist Johnny O'Donnell, plans were laid for the unique sound for which Reilly is now known. Following the tragic death of Brian Reilly in August of 2000 and a subsequent loss of band personnel, O'Donnell sought to keep the torch burning, and enlisted guitarist/vocalist Patrick Moores and multi-instrumentalist Jim Kiley to help rebuild the group.

After another parting of personnel, bassist/vocalist Chris Carter and drummer Brian Bruendl joined the fold, seeking to form the group's trademark booming rhythm section. Carter left the group in late 2002 to pursue other interests, and was aptly replaced by fellow Irishman and scene veteran Michael "Tinker" Tierney on bass and vocals. Following St. Patrick's Day 2001 Bruce Troeller joined on accordion-with-attitude to complete the sound.

A few hundred pub gigs later, Reilly released their Debut CD in December of 2002. Self-produced by Troeller and the band, "Beyond the Pale" is a collection of Reilly originals and traditional Celtic tunes that have been "De-ranged" by the group in their own style, which seeks to meld the tradition and history of Ireland with the energy and instrumentation of the rock music the band is influenced by. From the Celtic-Blues of "On the Dole", to the pounding version of the Luka Bloom favorite "City of Chicago", to the new Milwaukee pub favorite "Sinner's Sermon", "Beyond the Pale" has something for all music lovers, especially lovers of contemporary Irish music.

Milwaukee Celtic-Rock band, Reilly, released “Kick Ass Celtic Christmas” on Oglio Records of Torrence, CA October 21st, 2008.

Melding familiar holiday standards with the high energy Celtic-Rock that Reilly has become known for throughout the Midwest, “Kick Ass Celtic Christmas” also features a trio of Reilly original compositions including the hilarious “Dear Santa (I Can Explain)”; the touching “Bells Over Boston”; and “For You On Christmas”, a tribute to our troops fighting overseas.

Kick Ass Celtic Christmas” is the follow up to the band’s 2007 release “Saints of the Ocean”, and also serves as the debut album with new label Oglio Records (Beatallica, Nerf Herder, George Lopez, etc).

Recorded (somewhat ironically) by Shane Olivo throughout the summer of 2008, the album also features guest performances by Milwaukee musical mainstays Chris Conrad, Mitch Cooper, Matt Ostlund, John Steffes, members of the Mighty Lumberhorn, and nationally renown bag-piper Kimberly Siegel.

According to vocalist/guitarist Michael “Tinker” Tierney, “Reilly has built a name for ourselves by blending Celtic heritage with modern rock energy. “Kick Ass Celtic Christmas” gives us a chance to share our sound with an audience that possibly wouldn’t be exposed to what we do on their own, and at the same time allows Celtic music fans to celebrate the Holidays with the music they’ve always known, but finally mashed up with the music they love.”"
